KHMC is full of wonder every day! It is a safe, caring, loving, peaceful environment. It’s academically challenging curriculum taught with the Montessori philosophy by a professional staff, its strong tradition to working collaboratively with parents and community members, and its commitment to teaching and honoring diversity are a few of the reasons why I’ve chosen KHMC to be my home away from home.

Emily Carlson, PM Montessori Directress
Emily Carlson has been at Kennedy Heights Montessori Center since 2012. She loves Montessori because it is individualized for each child. She appreciates the three year cycle so she can really get to know her class and teach them what they need. Emily’s favorite areas of the classroom are science, sensorial and art, though she says each area of the classroom has it’s own amazing discoveries waiting for the right child at the right time. Emily graduated from Xavier University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Montessori in 2008. She is certified by the American Montessori Society for the Pre-primary level. When she is not working, Emily enjoys spending time with her fiance, Kyle, and her daughter, Stella. She also enjoys hiking, trips to the zoo, gardening and walking her three dogs.
She is excited to be a part of such a close knit and welcoming community at Kennedy Heights Montessori Center. She loves that she is able to teach to each child’s individual needs, just the Montessori philosophy teaches.
